Newest TAM release includes group benefits module
ASCnet TENCon Special—Anaheim, CA—September 10, 2008 - Insurance technology company Applied Systems announced today that the newest version of The Agency Manager (TAM) will include a group benefits module. The announcement was shared with the Applied System user base at 2008 TENCon, the Technology, Education & Networking Conference hosted this week in Anaheim by ASCnet Inc., the Applied Systems Client Network.
The general release for TAM 10.0 will accommodate insurance agencies selling lines of business in dental, group life, long term disability, medical, primary census, short term disability and vision.
An added feature within the benefits module is that attachments are allowed to the line of business itself. Documents such as spreadsheets and Word documents can be attached which minimizes data entry and possibility for error.
TAM 10.0 will also now support both front- and back-end scanning workflows. Back-end scanning has been used to attach items to client files and activities as necessary. Front-end scanning allows for mail and other documentation to immediately be filed electronically upon receipt.
Drag-and-drop workflows are supported with Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express in TAM 10.0. Emails can be attached to multiple targets and multiple attachments can take place within a workflow. When emails are attached, they remain in their original format (.MSG or .EML), which means that all formatting within the email remains the same.
Vision 6.0 has added the ability to locate by invoice number through Workflow Express. The client list report has been modified to show active clients with inactive policies. And also, ACORD forms have been updated.
DORIS 9.0 can now create summaries for commercial lines of business. This feature will allow users to give their customers better overviews of the coverages they own. Also added is the ability to define commission defaults for carriers and producers.
To reduce the risk of E&O, DORIS now tracks several application actions. With system-generated Diary tracking, an agency can track revising, printing, emailing and exporting of applications. Claim additions and revisions are also tracked with the diary.
"The enhancements added to each of the systems are meant to keep agencies current with technology and insurance," said Jim Kellner, chairman and CEO of Applied Systems Inc. "These additions will make selling more insurance quicker and easier for each of our users."
