Insurance principals, owners to focus on business benefits of technology
ASCnet annual conference to provide specialized education
University Park, Ill. – September 7, 2011 "To be most successful, use more of your agency management system" is the message behind special sessions for insurance agency and brokerage owners and principals attending Applied Systems Client Network’s (ASCnet) annual education and networking meeting this month in Orlando.
The Principal Master Series consists of a pre-conference workshop from 1 till 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 20; and a series of education sessions on Wednesday, Sept. 21. ASCnet’s 26th Technology, Education & Networking Conference (TENCon) runs through Friday, Sept. 23, at the Gaylord Palms Hotel & Convention Center. ASCnet is the international user group for solutions developed by insurance technology company Applied Systems.
The pre-conference workshop covers setting goals, managing sales, tracking activity versus production, and measuring results. The related education sessions explore those topics in detail.
Instructor for the Principal Master Series is Brian Bartosh, ASCnet chair and owner of Top O’Michigan Insurance Agency in Alpena, Mich.
"Principals and owners may not realize that using more of their Applied Systems agency management solution will help their agencies reach their potential. That’s what this series is all about," Bartosh said. "We’ve had classes for principals in the past, and ASCnet members asked for more. We feel the topics are critically important to helping independent agency principals and owners grow their businesses by truly utilizing everything their technology has to offer." Sessions in the principal series are:
- Key Factors Influencing My Agency/Brokerage. Account retention, employee productivity, growth in new business and increasing profit margins.
- Producer Sales Management. Hiring producers and setting goals with them, compensation, managing sales, and using your agency management system to assist with these tasks.
- Managing Change In My Agency/Brokerage. Resources available to agencies when change is on the horizon.
TENCon offers more than 150 class sessions organized into 11 tracks. Some qualify for continuing education credits. Class offerings provide education and training for insurance professionals in every agency or brokerage role. For more information or to register, visit ASCnet’s Web site at www.ascnet.org.
